The Hardest Working Band In West Hartford!
It was June 23, 2007 and Lonesome Eddie and the Bird Dogs were invited to perform for the first time as a band at a house party in West Hartford. Under an EZ Up Tent and with no sound other than a few small amps and 1 microphone, the band played an acoustic set that many at the party could never hear. And that might have been a good thing. One thing that did happen was that the band had a blast.
Two important things happened after that first performance, the band found a drummer and the days of a strictly acoustic gig were long gone. It was time to plug in and turn up the funmeter!
Now, two years later, the band has performed in public at parties, fundraisers, our favorite watering holes, and even Blue Back Square in West Hartford Center on a beautiful July evening in front of over 300 people.
The band has a busy Spring and Summer 2009 gig schedule bringing the "Good Time Rockin' Blues" to our friends and fans. Planned gigs include shows at our clubhouse - The Red Rock, a Garden Party at the Prospect Cafe, a return engagement at Blue Back Square's Wednesday Night Music Series, and of course, our now annual assault on the sensibilities of the residents of Point O' Woods Beach in Old Lyme over Labor Day weekend.
